Majority are located in the Western Cape near the coast. Divided into the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, and Northern Cape. The wine is influenced by two oceans, and multiple varietals are grown here. Some notable blends are French-style (two or more of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec), Shiraz-led (Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier), and Cape (30-70% must be pinotage).
